Sara Burr took her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University
of California-Riverside. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and course work in
finance at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is a Certified Economic Development Professional.
Dr. Burr has taught at the UC-Riverside, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Marquette University, and has developed
nationally prominent environmental communication programs for the State of Wisconsin. Prior to her career in environmental
communication, Burr developed an economic development focus managing business financing initiatives as Vice President of the
Madison Development Corporation (the city of Madison, Wisconsin's economic development arm) and as an Economic Development
Consultant with the Wisconsin Department of Commerce. In each of these roles, Dr. Burr honed her expertise as a grant, policy
and business writer.
She is the founder and owner of The Burr Group, LLC, a grant, policy, science and business writing
firm based in Middleton, Wisconsin with offices in Norman, Oklahoma, Austin, Texas and Dallas, Texas.
